Get your adrenaline pumping at one of the most adventurous destinations in the world—Victoria Falls.

In the heart of Africa, Victoria Falls is perched along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe spanning over 5,600 feet wide and cascading over 350 hundred feet down into the Zambezi River. The sheer volume of the waterfalls is incredibly impressive as the world’s largest sheet of falling water which has a spectacular view from the edge of the Batoka Gorge. Don’t stop there, discover the best adventures on both sides of the river to enjoy a trip of a lifetime!

Dip into Devil’s Pool to hang over the edge of Victoria Falls. The most exhilarating adventure is at the top of the falls. Devil’s Pool is a small natural infinity pool close to the Livingstone Island on the Zambian side of the falls. Open to the public from August through December, it is possible to swim to the edge and peer over at the gorge below! The current is not strong and there are plenty of rocks to hang onto while you experience the full spray from the crashing falls tumbling below, which provides quite the rush.

Go white water rafting down the Zambezi River. View the Batoka Gorge and Victoria Falls from the bottom while white water rafting through some of the best rapids in the world. The Zambezi River is known for being the top rated one-day whitewater runs, offering an exciting and challenging route with a combination of class three to five rapids. Local experts lead teams through the 25 rapids that comprise the full run, starting with a glimpse of the falls and ending with a massive hike out of the gorge. Get ready to get wet as there are less than one in four odds of not getting flipped.

Hike the Batoka Gorge at the Victoria Falls World Heritage Site. The Batoka Gorge is one of the most popular trails in the area and a great way to get in exercise with the steep 250 meter climb out. Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds and capture the beautiful morning light!

Eat breakfast with elephants. Upstream from the falls is the unique Elephant Café that offers guests the experience of meeting the resident gentle giants. After taking a speed boat or a meandering river safari to the café, mingle with several of the rescued elephants before enjoying a scrumptious meal at Zambia’s top rated restaurant.

Bungee-jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge. For those seeking raw adrenaline, the 364 foot bungee jump off the historic Victoria Falls Bridge is absolutely the way to go! Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the gigantic Zambezi below before taking the four-second plunge into the gorge. Ziplining or the gorge swing are two other popular options for achieving the same heart-pounding adrenaline rush.

Take the “Flight of Angels” in a helicopter. The famous 15-min flight offers a unique bird’s eye-view of the falls, gorge and Zambezi River. It is the best vantage point for sweeping photos of the full scenery below. Some of the pilots even offer the possibility of doing a microlight flip over the falls to keep your heart pounding!
